The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has issued an order under Section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, directing all Income Tax Offices across India to remain open on March 29, 30, and 31, 2025. This decision aims to facilitate the completion of pending departmental work before the close of the financial year 2024-25.

The financial year 2024-25 concludes on March 31, 2025 (Monday), which is a closed holiday.

The preceding days, March 29 (Saturday) and March 30 (Sunday), are also non-working days.

To ensure seamless tax compliance and processing, all Income Tax Offices across the country will remain operational on these three days.

The directive is issued for administrative convenience to prevent last-minute disruptions.
