CBIC Amends Export Duty On Varieties Of Rice

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has amended the export duty on rice.

The board has notified that no export duty shall be payable on Semi-milled or wholly-milled rice, whether or not polished or glazed (other than Parboiled rice and Basmati rice).

The CBIC has notified 10% export duty on rice in the husk (paddy or rough), husked (brown) rice, and Rice, parboiled, respectively.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 27/2011- Customs, dated the 1st March, 2011.
