Alfasith, a 31-year-old man from Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu, for his alleged involvement in promoting the ideology of the banned terrorist organization ISIS and attempting to radicalise youth through encrypted digital platforms.
The chargesheet, submitted to the Special NIA Court in Poonamallee, follows months of investigation into online propaganda and suspected recruitment efforts by the accused.

According to NIA officials, Alfasith:
- Created and operated closed chat groups named “Islamic State” and “Black Flag Soldiers” on WhatsApp and Telegram.
- Disseminated ISIS propaganda videos, images, and documents, glorifying terrorism and advocating for Shariah rule.
- Targeted young Muslim individuals in Tamil Nadu, attempting to influence and recruit them for extremist causes.
- Retrieved and forwarded radical content from ISIS-affiliated Telegram channel “nashida33”, also known as “Al Wala Wal Baro”.
Investigators uncovered significant digital evidence pointing to his efforts in spreading extremist material in coordination with other ISIS supporters.
Links to Known Extremist Elements
Alfasith was found to be in close contact with two known extremist operatives:
- Mohammed Ashik
- Sathik Batcha
Both have been previously named in terrorism-related cases and investigations in Tamil Nadu. The NIA believes these individuals were collaborating with Alfasith to push ISIS narratives online and potentially facilitate recruitment.
Legal Action Taken
The chargesheet invokes serious sections of Indian law, including:
- Sections 13 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)
