Bribery Case | CBI Arrests Senior Assistant Of GST/Customs Dept., Hyderabad

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arrested Senior Accounts Officer and Senior Assistant of office of GST/Customs Department, Hyderabad, Telangana in a bribery case today i.e., 02.09.2025.

CBI registered the case on 02.09.2025 against the said accused and unknown others  on the  allegations that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000/- from  the Complainant, who is a retired Assistant Commissioner, GST/Customs Department, Hyderabad for releasing the arrears related to pay parity bill. Upon negotiation the bribe amount was reduced to Rs. 25,000/-.

CBI laid a trap and caught both the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000/- from the complainant. Both the accused have been arrested.

Searches are in progress at the residential premises of the accused at Hyderabad.

The case is under investigation.
