Randip Singh Jagpal Appointed Whole Time Member (Law) at PFRDA

The Central Government has appointed Shri Randip Singh Jagpal, Executive Director at the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), as the Whole Time Member (Law) at the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

This appointment, made under Section 4 of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 2013, will be effective from the date he assumes charge of the post. He will serve in the position until he attains the age of 62 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Jagpal brings with him extensive regulatory experience from his tenure at IRDAI. His appointment is expected to bolster legal and regulatory oversight at PFRDA, which plays a crucial role in managing and developing India’s pension sector.

The notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services) in The Gazette of India (Extraordinary) on April 3, 2025.

This development comes amid increasing efforts by the government to strengthen pension fund regulations and ensure legal clarity in the rapidly evolving financial sector.
