The Central Government has approved the appointment of Ashish Yadav, IDAS (2012), as Director in the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, on a deputation basis.

The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme, according to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. The order was issued on an immediate basis from Kartavya Bhavan, New Delhi.

As per the memorandum, Shri Yadav’s appointment will be co-terminus with the tenure of the 8th Central Pay Commission and is extendable up to his admissible tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The competent authority has directed that Shri Yadav may be relieved of his present duties immediately to enable him to take charge of his new assignment in the Department of Expenditure.

The DoPT has also reiterated existing guidelines regarding timely joining. Citing the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) directions conveyed through a DoPT circular dated August 17, 2005, the memorandum states that an officer must join the assigned post within three weeks from the date of issue of the appointment order. Failure to do so may result in the initiation of proceedings for debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme.

The Office Memorandum has been signed by Annie S. Kanmani Joy, Director (MM), DoPT. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Department of Defence, the Department of Expenditure, and other concerned authorities for necessary action and record.

The appointment comes at a crucial time as the 8th Central Pay Commission undertakes its mandate of reviewing and recommending revisions in pay, allowances, and service conditions of Central Government employees.
