CBIC Notifies Promotion Of Officers To Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes Grade

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified the  promotion of officers to Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes Grade.

The President of India has empaneled and promoted the officers to the grade of Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 14 of the Pay Matrix (SAG) against the panel year 2025 with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and until further orders.

Their regular posting will be decided in due course with the approval of the Competent Authority. Till then, they shall assume the charge ofthe promotional post on in situ (as is where is) basis and hold the charge of the post which they were holding before promotion, till their regular postings are decided by the Competent Authority.

The promotion of officers on deputation shall be effective from the date they return to the cadre and assume charge of the promotional post. In case they opt to continue on ex-cadre posts, an appropriate proposal from the borrowing authority concerned may be forwarded to the Board by 144 February, 2025 for consideration of grant of proforma promotion in terms of extant instructions.
