The Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) has notified that the taxpayer can make GST payments via UPI, debit and credit cards.

Facility Available To Only 20 States/UTs

The facility of  payments under GST via UPI, debit and  credit cards is implemented only in 20 cities namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

The government stated that the rest of the states shall be covered soon.

Applicability 

The facility of payments under GST will be applicable on UPI, debit and credit cards powered by Rupay, MasterCard, Visa and Diners via Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Canara Bank and Karnataka Bank which will be applicable in case of UPI only.

The government stated that the rest of the banks shall be covered soon.
