In a rare show of unified national pride, senior members of the Indian judiciary have publicly commended the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive and courageous action in Operation Sindoor, the recent cross-border counter-offensive that has drawn global attention.
Justice Surya Kant, the second senior-most judge of the Supreme Court of India, praised the operation in emphatic terms, highlighting its strategic success in dismantling cross-border hubs of anti-national activities. Speaking to Times Now at the launch of former Chief Justice of India N. V. Ramana’s new book “Narratives Off The Bench: A Judge Speaks”, Justice Kant stated:
“As citizens of this country, we must be proud of our forces who went beyond our borders and eliminated the bases from where anti-national activities were being orchestrated.”
His remarks come amid widespread public admiration for the military’s swift and surgical response during Operation Sindoor, which has been hailed not just for its strategic precision but also its humanitarian impact.
Echoing similar sentiments, Delhi High Court Judge Justice Saurabh Banerjee offered a stirring tribute to the armed forces’ selfless service. Drawing a compelling comparison to the Delhi Police’s motto, he said:
“I have often heard the Delhi Police say ‘for you, with you’, but the Indian Army has taken this spirit much further — ‘with the whole nation, for the whole nation, and for the eternal benefit of all Indians’. Jai Hind.”
Justice Banerjee’s words struck a deep emotional chord, with his tribute going viral on social media. Many hailed it as a rare and heartfelt judicial endorsement of the armed forces not just as defenders of the nation, but as protectors of its dignity and unity, particularly in times of crisis and disaster.
The strong support from the judiciary underscores the national consensus around the armed forces’ role in safeguarding India’s sovereignty and humanitarian values — a sentiment that Operation Sindoor has brought to the forefront like never before.
