The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a Revised Minimum Recommended Scale of Fees for various professional assignments undertaken by Chartered Accountants (CAs). This move aims to standardize professional charges across different city classifications – Class A, Class B, and Class C – enhancing transparency and supporting fair practice within the profession.

What Is the Revised Fee Structure About?

The Committee for Members in Practice (CMP) of ICAI initiated this fee revision to strengthen the financial position of practitioners and to ensure ethical fee levels are maintained across India. These minimum fee recommendations cover a broad range of professional services, including:

  • Drafting of deeds and agreements
  • Income Tax return filings
  • TDS compliance
  • Appeals and assessments
  • Company and LLP incorporation
  • Charitable trust compliances

Key Highlights of the Revised Fees (As of March 2020)

1. Advising on Drafting of Deeds/Agreements

  • Partnership Deed: ₹15,000+ (Class A), ₹10,000+ (Class B), ₹8,000+ (Class C)
  • Joint Development Agreements: ₹12,000+ (Class A)

2. Income Tax Services

  • Filing of Return with Salary/Other Income: Starts at ₹4,000+ (Class C) to ₹8,000+ (Class A)
  • Capital Gain Filing (Immovable Property): ₹32,000+ (Class A)
  • Return filing with Bank Summary & Balance Sheet: ₹12,000+ (Class A)

3. Company Law & LLP Work

  • Private Limited Company Incorporation: ₹35,000+ (Class A)
  • Public Limited Company Incorporation: ₹65,000+ (Class A)

4. Charitable Trust Services

  • Registration Under Local Act: ₹25,000+ (Class A)
  • 80G Certificate: ₹20,000+ (Class A)
  • FCRA Registration: ₹35,000+ (Class A)

5. Assessment & Appeals

  • Attending Scrutiny Assessments (Non-Corporate): ₹32,000+ (Class A)
  • Income Tax Survey Handling: ₹80,000+ (Class A)
  • Tribunal Appeals: ₹65,000+ (Class A)
