A delegation of the Jaipur Tax Bar Association (JTBA) on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Members of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Appellate Tribunal and accorded them a warm and ceremonial welcome.

During the meeting, the Association formally felicitated the Judicial Members of the GST Tribunal—Hon’ble Mr. Vishesh Sharma and Hon’ble Mr. Hemant Bajaj—along with the Technical Member (CGST), Hon’ble Mr. Sunil Kumar Sinha, by presenting bouquets as a mark of respect and goodwill. The interaction was further graced by the presence of Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Principal Commissioner, who attended the meeting as a special invitee.

The JTBA delegation was led by its President Mr. Ram Babu Ji Vijay. Other members of the delegation included Mr. Sharad Asawa (Vice President), Mr. Vishnu Gupta (General Secretary), Mr. Vikram Gogra (Chairman, Memorandum Committee), and Mr. Vaibhav Gogra.

During the course of the interaction, the representatives of the Bar highlighted several practical and technical “teething issues” being faced in the initial phase of the GST Appellate Tribunal’s functioning. The delegation placed on record the difficulties currently encountered by advocates and taxpayers alike and shared constructive suggestions aimed at facilitating smoother operations and improving access to justice.

The Hon’ble Members of the GST Tribunal, along with Principal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar, appreciated the positive, proactive, and constructive role played by the Jaipur Tax Bar Association. They emphasized the importance of maintaining cordial, coordinated, and collaborative relations between the Bar and the Bench for ensuring the effective functioning of the Tribunal. Expressing optimism, the Tribunal Members conveyed their expectation of continued cooperation and support from the Bar in strengthening the judicial framework under GST.

The meeting concluded in a cordial and congenial atmosphere, with all stakeholders reaffirming their collective commitment to the effective implementation of GST laws and to ensuring that taxpayers are provided speedy, transparent, and accessible justice through a robust appellate mechanism.
