Kannada actress Ranya Rao’s arrest in a high-profile gold smuggling case has exposed a deep-rooted nexus between influential individuals and security officials. (Watch Video)

On March 3, 2025, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended Ranya at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport with ₹12.56 crore worth of foreign-origin gold bars concealed on her body.
