Dubai-based Rayad Group issues apology after ICP rejects lifetime Golden Visa claims
In a recent clarification, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has categorically denied media reports suggesting that lifetime Golden Visas could be obtained for around ₹23.30 lakh (approx. AED 100,000). The country’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) dismissed the claims, stating that they hold no legal validity and were not issued in coordination with UAE authorities.
The controversy erupted after Rayad Group, a Dubai-based private visa consultancy, reportedly stated that Golden Visas for various categories and nationalities could be obtained from outside the UAE under “simplified conditions” via consultancy or commercial entities. Hours later, facing backlash and an official denial from ICP, the company issued an apology and accepted “full responsibility” for spreading incorrect information.
“The information shared was inaccurate and has created confusion. We apologise unreservedly,” the Rayad Group said in its statement.
According to the ICP, the reference to the ₹23.30 lakh fee appeared to be the service charge demanded by the private entity and not an official government fee. The authority clarified that all Golden Visa applications must be submitted through official government channels and digital platforms within the UAE, and no internal or external consultancy has been authorised to process applications independently.
The ICP further reiterated that the criteria and procedures for the Golden Visa are clearly outlined in UAE’s laws and ministerial decisions, which are publicly accessible on their official website and mobile applications.
Authorities have urged the public to rely only on verified government sources for immigration-related information and warned against engaging with unofficial third-party agencies.
