Rameshkumar Hadvani Appointed Technical Member (State) at GSTAT Surat Bench

The President of India has approved the appointment of Shri Rameshkumar Gokalbhai Hadvani as the Technical Member (State) for the Surat Bench of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), located in Gujarat. The announcement was made through an official order (No. TMS-06/2025) issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, dated July 10, 2025.

Shri Hadvani, who retired as Additional Commissioner of Income Tax from the State Tax Department, Government of Gujarat, will assume the role for a fixed period of four years or until he attains the age of 67, whichever is earlier. The position carries a monthly fixed salary of Rs. 2,25,000.

The appointment is in line with the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (Appointment and Conditions of Service of President and Members) Rules, 2023, which came into effect on October 25, 2023, under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

According to the office order, Shri Hadvani is expected to report to the Principal Bench of GSTAT in New Delhi on or after August 1, 2025, and take charge within four weeks. He is also required to submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a competent authority in the state of Gujarat.

The order was signed by Shri Kuldeep Chaudhary, Under Secretary to the Government of India.
