The Rajasthan State Tax Service Association has proposed not to call any Chartered Accountant (CA) as faculty in departmental training.

On 12.09.2024, an emergency meeting of Rajasthan Tax Seva Sangh was held in Divisional Tax Bhawan, Jaipur. In the meeting, baseless comments of corruption on the GST department have been made by tax practitioner CA Jatin Harjai on social media.

All SGST officers posted in Jaipur attended the meeting in large numbers.

In the meeting, a resolution was passed collectively against the comment of CA Jatin Harjai. All unanimously passed a resolution of condemnation against it. All agreed that CA Jatin Harjai should apologize for his baseless comment and delete this post. All the officers proposed that along with CA Jatin Harjai, no CA should be called as faculty in departmental training. Mr. RP Bairwa, who was chairing the meeting, said that after discussing with the association of CGST officers, a protest will be called for on this issue.

Protest will also be lodged in writing to the Seva Sangh CA Association on all these issues.

CA Jatin Harjai citing the news cuttings, twitted, “Across India #GST offices are nest of corruption. Officers are literally nothing to do with law of the land. Most of times they work like recovery agents. Recovery may be personal or for govt. treasury to fulfill the target. Hell for honest taxpayer & haven for tax evaders”
