The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has officially notified Navi Mumbai and Noida International Airport (Jewar) as designated customs ports for the unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods.

The notification, issued under No. 15/2025-Customs (N.T.), amends the earlier Government of India notification No. 61/94-Customs (N.T.) dated November 21, 1994. The update adds Navi Mumbai under serial number 11 for Maharashtra and Noida International Airport (Jewar) under serial number 16 for Uttar Pradesh in the designated customs ports list.

Key Highlights of the Notification:

  • Navi Mumbai: Now recognized as an official customs port, allowing the unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods.
  • Noida International Airport (Jewar): Newly designated as a customs port, enabling international trade operations for the region.

Implications for Trade and Logistics

The inclusion of these two locations is expected to boost export-import (EXIM) trade by reducing dependency on existing ports, optimizing supply chain logistics, and enhancing ease of doing business. Navi Mumbai’s designation will support Maharashtra’s already robust trade network, while Noida International Airport’s customs status is expected to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging trade hub.
