The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has requested the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to further extend the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS), 2026 beyond its August 31 deadline, citing technical problems on the MCA-21 V3 portal and practical difficulties faced by companies and professionals in completing pending statutory filings.
In a representation dated August 20, 2026, ICSI President Pawan G. Chandak urged the Ministry to provide companies with an additional opportunity to regularise historical filing defaults. The representation was addressed to Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

ICSI acknowledged the Ministry’s decision to introduce CCFS 2026 and extend the scheme until August 31, 2026. Describing it as a progressive and stakeholder-friendly initiative, the Institute said the scheme had given companies a valuable opportunity to complete pending filings with reduced additional fees and other applicable relaxations.
According to ICSI, the scheme has been widely appreciated by stakeholders and has significantly facilitated compliance with the Companies Act, 2013. Its central objective is to encourage defaulting companies to voluntarily bring their statutory records up to date while reducing the financial burden
