The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has formally commenced operations of its State Bench at Rajkot, marking a significant step toward strengthening the GST dispute resolution framework in western India.

The GSTAT State Bench is now functioning from its designated premises in Rajkot. The bench is located at Tower-A, RK Iconic, 150 Feet Ring Road, near Sheetal Park, Puneet Nagar. The commencement of operations is expected to ease the burden on taxpayers and reduce pendency in GST appellate matters across the region.

The notice highlights that the GSTAT e-filing portal (https://efiling.gstat.gov.in) has been operational since September 24, 2025. The portal was launched by the Union Finance Minister to enable seamless digital filing of appeals and applications.

Taxpayers and litigants can now file appeals related to orders-in-Appeal issued by the First Appellate Authority under Section 107 of the GST Act, and orders passed by the Revisional Authority under Section 108.

This move is aligned with the government’s broader push toward digitization and ease of doing business.

To assist users, a dedicated toll-free helpline (1800-103-4782) has been made available for resolving issues related to e-filing. Additionally, users facing technical difficulties can raise incident reports directly through the GSTAT portal.

The Trade Notice has been issued in public interest to create awareness among taxpayers, trade bodies, and professionals regarding the functional status of the Rajkot Bench. Trade associations, tax bar bodies, and legal practitioners have been specifically requested to disseminate this information widely among their members.

The operationalization of the GSTAT bench in Rajkot is a crucial milestone in completing the appellate structure envisioned under the GST regime. It provides taxpayers in Gujarat with a dedicated forum for second-level appeals, reducing dependence on distant benches and expediting dispute resolution.

The notice was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by the Assistant Registrar of GSTAT, Rajkot Bench.

Copies of the notice have been forwarded to the Registrar General of the Gujarat High Court, the Finance Secretary of Gujarat, and the Principal Bench of GSTAT in New Delhi, ensuring coordination across judicial and administrative channels.
