GST Day 2025: CBIC to Celebrate GST Pakhwada from June 16 to June 30 Across India

In celebration of GST Day 2025, the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax (DGGST) under CBIC has announced the organization of a nationwide GST Pakhwada from June 16 to June 30, 2025. This initiative will be conducted across all CGST Zones to engage with taxpayers and address their trade-related queries.

According to the official circular dated 15.05.2025, the GST Pakhwada aims to raise awareness, highlight the positive impacts of GST, and offer resolution to trade issues through direct engagement.

Key Highlights of GST Pakhwada 2025

  1. GST Conclave – June 16, 2025
    The Pakhwada will commence with a GST Conclave at the Zonal/Commissionerate level, bringing together industry leaders, tax experts, policymakers, and association heads. The event will focus on GST’s achievements, current challenges, and the roadmap ahead.
  2. Helpdesks for Taxpayer Engagement
    From June 16 to 30, helpdesks will be set up across Commissionerates and divisions to assist taxpayers. These helpdesks will be managed by knowledgeable officers who will provide guidance and resolve trade-related queries.
    • For outstation divisions, helpdesks will be set up for at least two days.
    • Two detailed reports on helpdesk activity are to be submitted by June 23, 2025 (first report) and June 29, 2025 (second report).
  3. Report format includes:
    • Number of visitors to the helpdesk
    • Issues resolved
    • Issues under resolution
  4. Illumination of GST Buildings
    All GST government buildings are to be lit up for one week during the celebration to mark the occasion.
  5. GST Impact Reports
    Infographics and animated videos will be displayed on screens in offices to showcase the positive impact of GST, the ease of doing business, and increased tax transparency in India.

Nationwide Publicity Campaign

To ensure wide visibility, DGTS will publish advertisements in leading Hindi, English, and vernacular newspapers. Commissionerates are required to submit the following details for inclusion in the advertisement by June 1, 2025:

  • Name of the Commissionerate/Division
  • Name of the Nodal Officer
  • Helpdesk address and contact details (landline, mobile, and email)
