Delhi Civil Defence to Test Air Raid Sirens at PWD HQ, ITO

The Directorate of Civil Defence, under the Government of NCT of Delhi, will conduct a test of air raid sirens at PWD Headquarters, ITO, today at 3:00 PM. The test will last approximately 15 to 20 minutes, according to an official press release from the Office of the District Magistrate, Central Delhi.

This scheduled testing is a part of a civil preparedness exercise aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of public alert systems in emergency situations.

The District Magistrate (Central), G. Sudhakar, has urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic during the test. Residents in the area may hear loud sirens, but officials emphasize that it is only a routine drill.

The announcement also calls for amplified public awareness through social and electronic media to avoid confusion and spread accurate information. The test underscores Delhi’s focus on strengthening disaster management protocols and improving real-time communication with citizens.
