CBIC Notifies Promotion Of Vikas Kumar, P. K. Katiyar, Sanjay Gupta To Chief Commissioner Of Customs & Indirect Taxes Grade

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has  notified the promotion of Vikas Kumar, P. K. Katiyar, and Sanjay Gupta to Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes Grade.

The President has  empanelled and promoted Shri Vikas Kumar (Emp. Code: 731; Batch: 1992; DoB:28.02.1966), Shri P. K. Katiyar (Emp. Code: 733; Batch: 1992; DoB:07.03.1966) and Shri Sanjay Gupta (Emp. Code: 734; Batch: 1992; DoB:10.11.1967) to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) against the panel year 2025 on a regular basis w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, not before 01.02.2025, and until further orders.

The President has  empaneled and promoted Shri Sunil Jain (Emp. Code: 735; Batch: 1992; DoB:30.09.1967) to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG*) against the panel year 2025 on ad-hoc basis w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, not before 01.02.2025, and until further orders.

The President has  empanelled and promoted Shri Shaik Khader Rahman (Emp. Code: 739; Batch:1992; DoB:16.06.1966) to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG*) against the panel year 2025 on ad- hoc basis w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, not before 11.02.2025, and until further orders.

The promotion of Shri Sunil Jain and Shri Shaik Khader Rahman is purely on ad-hoc basis and does not confer any right for any claim for continued officiation or regular promotion in the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes, and the period of such service will not count for seniority or as qualifying service for further promotion. Government reserves the right to terminate the ad-hoc appointment and revert them to the post from which they have been promoted.

Regular posting of the above officers will be decided in due course with the approval of the Competent Authority. Until such time, they shall assume the charge of the promotional post on in situ (as is where is) basis.

The compliance report regarding joining of the above officers shall be sent to the Board, with a copy endorsed toPr. ADG (HRM-I1), DGHRD, at the earliest.
