2024 Ends And 2025 Begins With CBIC Promotion Notification : Know The Officers

The 2024 ends and 2025 begins with promotion notification of the Central Board Of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).

The President of India is pleased to empanel and promote Sanjay Mangal and Mahesh Kumar Rustagi to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG*) against the panel year 2025 on a regular basis w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, not before 01.01.2025 and until further orders.

The CBIC empaneled and promoted M. Mathew Jolly and Ashish Chandan to the grade of Chief Commissioner ofCustoms & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix against the panel year 2025 on an ad-hoc basis w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, not before 01.01.2025 and until further orders.

The promotion of M. Mathew Jolly and Ashish Chandan is purely on ad-hoc basis and does not confer any right for any claim for continued officiation or regular promotion in the grade ofChief Commissioner of Customs and Indirect

Taxes and the period of such service will not count for seniority or as qualifying service for further promotion. Government reserves the right to terminate the ad-hoc appointment and revert them to the post from which they have been promoted.

Their regular posting will be decided in due course with the approval of the Competent Authority. Till then, they shall assume the charge of the promotional post on in situ (as is where is) basis.

The compliance report regarding joining of the above officers shall be sent to the Board immediately.
