The gold smuggling attempt was foiled by the Delhi Customs Department at IGI Airport under the leadership of Vishal Pal Singh wherein gold was found in the tool-box.
In a late-night operation (28/29.01.2025), Customs AIU officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi intercepted a 23-year-old male Indian passenger from Uttarakhand arriving on Flight 6E-716 from Riyadh via Mumbai.
Suspicious X-ray images led to the seizure of a 175g gold rod worth ā¹13 Lakhs cleverly hidden inside a toolbox.
Further investigation is under progress.
