In a significant taxpayer-friendly initiative aimed at improving grievance redressal and enhancing taxpayer services, the Office of the Commissioner of Goods and Services Tax (GST), Aurangabad Commissionerate, has announced the commencement of weekly walk-in meetings with the Commissioner of CGST & Central Excise.

The trade notice invites registered manufacturers, traders, industries, contractors, trade associations, chambers of commerce, tax professionals, chartered accountants, and members of the general public to directly interact with the Commissioner to discuss issues relating to GST and Central Excise administration.

Taxpayers Can Meet Commissioner Every Wednesday Without Appointment

As per the trade notice, taxpayers and members of the general public can meet the Commissioner in person every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Commissioner’s office without any prior appointment.

If Wednesday happens to be a gazetted holiday, the walk-in meeting will instead be held on the next working day.

The Commissionerate stated that the initiative is intended to provide an accessible platform for taxpayers to raise grievances, seek clarifications, resolve pending issues, and provide suggestions for improving taxpayer services.

Initiative Aims to Improve Grievance Redressal

The Commissionerate emphasized that the weekly interaction has been introduced to further strengthen taxpayer services and ensure effective grievance redressal.

By allowing taxpayers to directly engage with the Commissioner, the department seeks to facilitate quicker resolution of complaints, reduce procedural delays, and improve communication between taxpayers and the GST administration.

The move reflects an effort to make tax administration more transparent, responsive, and citizen-centric.

Trade Bodies Asked to Spread Awareness

The Commissionerate has requested trade associations, chambers of commerce, manufacturers’ associations, and professional bodies to give wide publicity to the trade notice so that eligible taxpayers can make full use of the opportunity.
