GST@8: Madurai Chapter of ICMAI to Celebrate 8th Anniversary of GST Implementation with Key Event on July 19

The Madurai Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) is all set to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation with a special seminar titled “GST – 8th Year Celebration”, scheduled today from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Hotel The Metropole, Madurai.

Inauguration by Senior GST Official

The event will be inaugurated by T. Nalina Sofia, IRS, Additional Commissioner – GST, Madurai, who will serve as the Chief Guest. The occasion marks a significant milestone in India’s journey with GST, highlighting its evolution and the increasing emphasis on digitisation and compliance facilitation.

Distinguished Speakers and Key Topics

Two notable speakers will deliver expert insights:

  • CMA P. Balakrishnan, IRS (Retd.), former Assistant Director, CBIC, Chennai, will address the theme “Digital GST: Streamlining Tax Processes & Reducing Compliance Burden”.
  • CMA Vishwanath Bhat, Chairman – SIRC of ICMAI, Chennai, will speak on “GST Audit and Adjudication: Recent Developments & Updates.”

Engagement and Learning

The program, offering 4 CPE hours, is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge on the latest GST developments and help professionals stay abreast of regulatory changes. The entry fee is ₹500 (inclusive of GST) for professionals and ₹300 for students. The event includes a welcome drink and lunch.
