GSTAT Technical Members To Receive Salary of Rs. 2.25 Lakh Monthly, Joining from September 1, 2025

The Government of India has appointed 31 senior IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers — both retired and serving — as Technical Members (Centre) in the state benches of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT). The appointments have been made under GSTAT (Appointment and Conditions of Service of President and Members) Rules, 2023 and the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

The appointed members will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹2,25,000 for a four-year term or until they attain 67 years of age, whichever comes earlier. They are required to join on or after September 1, 2025, at the Principal Bench, GSTAT, New Delhi, and must submit a government-specified medical fitness certificate prior to taking charge.
