GSTAT Appeal Filing Glitch Resolved

The persistent technical difficulties faced by taxpayers attempting to file appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), the appeal filing glitch on the portal issue has finally been resolved.

Several users had reported a recurring glitch during the initial stage of filing: after entering the ARN to verify eligibility for filing the appeal in the current month, the system would direct them to the login page. However, upon submitting login credentials, users were redirected back to the ARN verification page without any error message, effectively preventing them from moving forward. Despite multiple complaints, the helpdesk had initially been unable to identify the root cause.

Users described the experience as a “loop with no progress,” causing significant delays in statutory filings.

Portal administrators have now confirmed that the issue has been fixed. According to GSTN sources, the redirection loop was caused by a session-validation error triggered during the transition between ARN verification and login authentication. A patch was deployed late last evening to stabilise the workflow, and internal testing has confirmed that the appeal-filing module is now functioning normally.

Taxpayers who were earlier unable to proceed have reported successful logins and smooth navigation through the appeal-filing process today.

The GSTN has advised users to clear browser cache and attempt filing again if they continue to face any difficulty. The helpdesk has also assured prompt support for any residual issues.

The resolution comes as a major relief for taxpayers and practitioners who were racing against the clock to meet deadlines for GSTAT appeal submissions.
