First Meeting of GST Grievance Redressal Committee Held in Thiruvananthapuram: Know What Happened

The first meeting for the Constitution of the Grievance Redressal Committee at the Zonal/State Level for GST-related issues was held on April 22, 2025, at Taj Vivanta, Thiruvananthapuram.

The meeting was chaired by Shri S. K. Rahman, Chief Commissioner, CGST Thiruvananthapuram Zone, and attended by Shri K. Kalimuthu, Commissioner, CGST Thiruvananthapuram Commissionerate, and Shri Abraham S. Renn, Special Commissioner, Kerala GST. Key representatives from trade associations and professional bodies of Chartered Accountants, Tax Advocates, and Tax Practitioners also participated.

The platform enabled stakeholders to raise various GST-related concerns, including Technical difficulties faced during return filing, and challenges in filing waiver applications under the amnesty scheme.

Queries on the continued need for e-way bills despite the implementation of e-invoicing.

First Meeting of GST Grievance Redressal Committee Held in Thiruvananthapuram

A request that government contractors be allowed to pay GST within one month from the date of payment, without attracting any penal consequences.

The officials assured that the issues raised would be duly examined and addressed in the spirit of collaboration and responsive governance. The initiative was welcomed as a major step toward strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism and promoting a taxpayer-friendly.
