Tax professionals and chartered accountants across India faced hurdles today while uploading audit reports under Section 44AB (Form 3CB-3CD) on the Income Tax e-filing portal. Users reported repeated error messages reading “Submission failed! Response form server: submission_failed” during the final stage of report submission.

The issue, which appears to be server-side, has caused delays in uploading tax audit reports mandated under the Income-tax Act, 1961, ahead of the October filing deadlines.

Practitioners on social media and professional forums have urged the Income Tax Department (@IncomeTaxIndia) to address the glitch promptly, as it hampers compliance timelines for both businesses and auditors.

The error message confirms that the problem originates from the department’s server, suggesting a backend failure rather than user-side input errors.

With audit report filing deadlines approaching, professionals are requesting an immediate fix and possible extension to mitigate the compliance bottleneck.
