As the income tax filing deadline approaches, professionals and taxpayers across the country have issued a gentle reminder to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), urging it to formally extend the due date for filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) in audit cases to November 30, 2025, in line with the recent directions of the Gujarat High Court.

The Gujarat High Court clearly directed the CBDT to extend the due date, providing relief to taxpayers and professionals facing practical challenges in meeting the current deadline.

With the final week of filing underway, taxpayers have appealed to the CBDT to issue the official notification without further delay, ensuring compliance with the court’s directive and avoiding last-minute chaos.

Tax practitioners have emphasized that such an early notification would not only bring clarity but also prevent unnecessary stress among professionals managing audit and filing workloads.

As the income tax filing deadline draws near, taxpayers and professionals have taken to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), urging the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to officially extend the due date for filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) in audit cases to November 30, 2025, in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Gujarat High Court.
