CBI Arrests ED Deputy Director Chintan Raghuvanshi in ₹20 Lakh Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Odisha, in connection with an alleged bribery case involving ₹20 lakh.

Officials said the arrest followed a trap operation conducted by the CBI on Thursday, May 29, after receiving intelligence inputs indicating that Raghuvanshi was planning to accept a bribe from a Bhubaneswar-based mining businessman.

Raghuvanshi, a 2013-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), was allegedly caught red-handed during the operation. He was subsequently taken into custody and arrested after being questioned by investigators.

The CBI has not disclosed further details about the businessman or the nature of the case being influenced by the alleged bribe. The investigation is ongoing.
