Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Petition on BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's Remarks Against Judiciary

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition concerning the controversial remarks made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, which allegedly target the apex court. The petition was mentioned before the Chief Justice of India by advocate Narender Mishra, who highlighted the seriousness of the matter.

Speaking to the media, Mishra stated, “I want to inform that I mentioned this matter in front of the Supreme Court citing the gravity of the matter. I informed the CJI about the statement of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey where he attacked the Supreme Court. I informed that his statement has gone viral.”

The remarks, widely circulated on social media, have sparked debate about the limits of political speech and the protection of judicial integrity. Advocate Mishra expressed concern over the lack of response from constitutional authorities, noting, “I also said that there has been no action by the central government and the Attorney General.”

In his submission, Mishra also appealed for the Court’s intervention to direct the removal of the viral videos containing Dubey’s statement from various social media platforms, citing potential harm to the dignity of the judiciary and public trust in judicial processes.

Acknowledging the urgency of the issue, the Chief Justice directed that the matter be listed for hearing in the coming week.

The case is expected to raise important constitutional questions about free speech, accountability, and the balance between political commentary and contempt of court.
