In a significant crackdown, the Customs TVM Zone has successfully stopped two gold smuggling attempts this week. Authorities intercepted 0.22 kilograms of gold, valued at approximately Rs. 17.41 lakh, in a coordinated operation designed to curb illegal trafficking.

Major Seizures Across 16 Incidents

In addition to the gold, customs officials also seized a variety of other contraband over 16 separate incidents. The list of recovered items includes:

  • Ganja worth Rs. 4.49 crores
  • Cigarettes valued at Rs. 13.67 lakh
  • Currency amounting to Rs. 7.32 lakh

These findings highlight the extensive network involved in smuggling activities and underline the commitment of the TVM Customs team to maintain border security and enforce stringent anti-smuggling laws.
