DGFT Initiates Review of SIONs For Automobile Tyres

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Trade Notice calling for a comprehensive review of Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) applicable to automobile tyres. 

The move aims to assess and modify existing norms to align with current industry practices and technological advancements.

The DGFT is reviewing the SIONs for various automobile tyre categories, including A-1722, A-1717, A-1667, A-1666, A-1673, A-1665, A-1664, and A-1663.

Export Promotion Councils (EPCs), Exporters, Trade Bodies, and Industry Stakeholders are encouraged to provide inputs on necessary modifications to the existing SIONs.

Submissions should include justifications, production and consumption data, wastage norms, and relevant supporting documents, duly certified by a Chartered Engineer.

Deadline and Submission Process:

Stakeholders are required to submit their suggestions within 45 days from the issuance of the trade notice. Responses should be sent to nc7.dgft@gov.in for further examination by the DGFT.
