The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially clarified the eligibility conditions for students planning to appear in the CA Final November 2026 Examination. With the examination form window expected to open soon, aspiring Chartered Accountants are being urged to verify their registration status, articleship records, mandatory training, and examination prerequisites well in advance to avoid last-minute disqualification.

The latest guidance highlights several critical compliance requirements that students must satisfy before submitting their examination forms. Missing any of these requirements could result in candidates becoming ineligible for the November 2026 attempt.

Verify SSP Portal Details Immediately

ICAI has advised every CA Final aspirant to log into the Self Service Portal (SSP) and carefully review their profile details.

Students should ensure that:

  • Their registration status remains active and has not expired.
  • Candidates registered under the old scheme have migrated to the New Scheme, which ICAI has allowed without charging any conversion fee.
  • Their articleship status reflects as “Registered.”
  • Uploaded photograph and signature comply with ICAI specifications, including a white background photograph without caps or selfies.

An incorrect SSP profile may delay or even prevent submission of the examination application.

Articleship Completion Rules Depend on Training Structure

ICAI has clarified that eligibility requirements differ depending on the articleship structure under which the student is registered.

For students pursuing the traditional three-year or three-and-a-half-year articleship, eligibility is linked to completion of the prescribed practical training within the stipulated timelines, with certain cases extending up to April or October 2027.

Meanwhile, candidates undergoing the two-year articleship under the New Scheme must complete both:

  • The prescribed practical training, and
  • Any excess leave,

on or before 30 April 2026 to remain eligible for the November 2026 examination.

Students whose articleship has been terminated have also been advised to complete re-registration immediately so that the remaining training period is properly recorded.

Advanced ICITSS Deadline Fixed

One of the most important eligibility conditions relates to the successful completion of the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (Advanced ICITSS).

ICAI has specified that this course must be completed on or before 10 October 2026.

Failure to complete Advanced ICITSS before this deadline may render students ineligible to appear in the November 2026 CA Final examination.

SPOM Completion Also Mandatory

Students admitted under the New Scheme from November 2024 onwards must also complete the mandatory Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM) before the same deadline.

Depending upon their applicable syllabus, candidates must successfully complete SPOM Sets A, B, C and D by 10 October 2026.

ICAI has cautioned students not to postpone these modules until the final weeks, as delays may directly impact examination eligibility.

Five Essential Requirements Before Filing Exam Form

Before applying for the CA Final November 2026 examination, students should ensure the following five checkpoints are fully completed:

  • Active SSP registration profile
  • Correctly registered and completed articleship
  • Completion of Advanced ICITSS
  • Completion of applicable SPOM Sets
  • Valid photograph and signature uploaded as per ICAI norms

Students Advised Not to Wait Until the Last Minute

With multiple compliance requirements involving practical training, online learning modules and profile verification, ICAI has effectively encouraged students to begin preparations immediately rather than waiting for the examination application window to open.

Experts believe early verification will help students avoid technical issues, documentation delays and last-minute ineligibility, particularly where articleship records or mandatory course completions remain pending.

As the November 2026 examination cycle approaches, candidates are advised to regularly monitor ICAI announcements and ensure every eligibility requirement is fulfilled well before the prescribed deadlines.
