The order has been issued in continuation of earlier directives of the Board and DGHRD, aimed at streamlining administrative efficiency within the Chennai GST Zone.

According to the order, all officers must be relieved by April 24, 2026, and are required to join their new postings by April 27, 2026. Officers coming from other zones who have already joined stand relieved, while those yet to report may directly join their assigned Commissionerates.

The administration has also clarified that officers engaged in election-related duties in states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, and Puducherry will be relieved only after completion of the election process, ensuring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.

Further, outgoing officers have been directed to prepare detailed briefs on pending and sensitive matters to ensure smooth transition and continuity in administration. A compliance report must be submitted by April 30, 2026

All pending representations regarding transfers have been disposed of with this order, which has been issued with the approval of the Principal Chief Commissioner.
