CBDT Assigns Additional Charges to Senior Income Tax Officers

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has issued Office Order No. 40 of 2026, assigning additional charges to several senior officers in the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT) and Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT).

The order, released from Kartavya Bhavan-1, New Delhi, will come into effect from March 1, 2026, and will remain in force until further directions.

As per the official notification (F. No. A-22012/1/2026-Ad.VI), the following officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities:

No Additional Remuneration

The order clearly specifies that the officers will not be eligible for any additional remuneration for holding these additional charges, in accordance with the provisions of Fundamental Rule 49 (FR-49).
