The Madurai Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) is all set to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation with a special seminar titled “GST – 8th Year Celebration”, scheduled today from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Hotel The Metropole, Madurai.

The event will be inaugurated by T. Nalina Sofia, IRS, Additional Commissioner – GST, Madurai, who will serve as the Chief Guest. The occasion marks a significant milestone in India’s journey with GST, highlighting its evolution and the increasing emphasis on digitisation and compliance facilitation.

Two notable speakers will deliver expert insights:
- CMA P. Balakrishnan, IRS (Retd.), former Assistant Director, CBIC, Chennai, will address the theme “Digital GST: Streamlining Tax Processes & Reducing Compliance Burden”.
- CMA Vishwanath Bhat, Chairman – SIRC of ICMAI, Chennai, will speak on “GST Audit and Adjudication: Recent Developments & Updates.”
