In a major breakthrough, police in the Revdar area of Sirohi district have arrested five individuals after uncovering a large cache of chemical substances stored in plastic drums near an agricultural well. The chemicals were allegedly intended for manufacturing synthetic drugs.

Acting on credible intelligence, Revdar Police conducted a swift operation in the rural outskirts, where they discovered nearly 100 kg of suspicious chemicals concealed in multiple drums. The area was immediately secured, and a specialised chemical and explosives analysis team from Gujarat was called to examine the substances. Preliminary findings confirmed that the chemicals were precursors commonly used in narcotics production.

Following the seizure, police detained five suspects believed to be directly involved in procuring, storing, and preparing to process the chemicals into synthetic drugs. Initial interrogation suggests the group was planning to set up a clandestine drug-manufacturing unit in the secluded farmland area to avoid law enforcement detection.

Multiple plastic drums containing chemical precursors were recovered. Evidence suggests the suspects had been visiting the site frequently to prepare for drug manufacturing. Forensic samples indicate the materials were intended for the synthesis of illegal narcotics. Police are now mapping the supply chain, transport routes, and possible interstate networks linked to the accused.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, and chemical samples have been sent for detailed forensic testing. Authorities believe additional individuals may be involved in the operation, and more arrests are likely as the probe deepens.

Police have intensified surveillance in remote agricultural zones and border areas that are often exploited by narcotics syndicates for concealed manufacturing and storage activities.
