JOB VACANCY | Gujarat Income Tax Dept. Invites Advocates For Post Of Special Public Prosecutors

Applications are invited from practicing advocates, having experience in criminal matters, for engagement as Special Public Prosecutors (SPPs), to represent the Income tax department, Gujarat before the Courts of Sessions and its Subordinate Courts in Prosecution cases of the entire Gujarat Region, Union territories of Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Silvasa falling under territorial jurisdiction of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Gujarat, Ahmedabad. 

Advocates, who have minimum experience of seven years in dealing with criminal matters, who are enrolled and are members of The Gujarat Bar Council or Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa (for applicants from Union territories of Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Silvasa), are invited to apply.

Preference would be given to advocates having experience in dealing with Income tax/Direct tax matters.
The eligibility terms and conditions and Schedule of fees payable to Special Public Prosecutors are as per Instruction No 2/2023 dated 30/11/2023 issued by Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi. 

The application form in Proforma-P1 with the necessary documentary evidence (in sealed cover) should be received at the above mentioned postal address either physically or at the E-mail id: ahmedabad.cit.judicial@incometax.gov.in by 5.00 pm on or before 17.02.2025.
