ICAI Invites Applications for 70+ Posts Including Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary; Apply By March 25

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has invited applications from skilled and experienced professionals for multiple senior and mid-level positions across various functional areas. 

The recruitment drive includes posts such as Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Section Officer, and Assistant, offering competitive pay scales and opportunities to contribute to the functioning of one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies.

ICAI, a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament in 1949 to regulate and develop the Chartered Accountancy profession in India, announced that the recruitment aims to strengthen its administrative and technical capacities across departments including finance, law, information technology, sustainability, human resources, and infrastructure.

Deputy Secretary Posts

At the senior level, ICAI is recruiting Deputy Secretaries at Pay Level 12, with an annual compensation of approximately ₹21.23 lakh. Candidates applying for this post must have a minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience.

Two positions are available under this category:

  • Infrastructure – requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • ERP – requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Assistant Secretary Positions

The institute has also opened Assistant Secretary posts at Pay Level 11, offering ₹18.43 lakh per annum, with a minimum requirement of seven years of post-qualification experience.

A total of 36 vacancies are available across various disciplines:

  • Chartered Accountants (CA) – 25 posts
  • Legal professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in Law – 3 posts
  • Company Secretary (CS) – 1 post
  • Economics (PhD required) – 1 post
  • Sustainability/Environmental Management – 2 posts
  • Human Resources – 3 posts
  • Information Technology – 2 posts
  • Media Management/Mass Communication – 1 post

The institute clarified that Executive MBA qualifications will not be accepted for certain managerial positions.

Section Officer Vacancies

For Section Officer roles, ICAI is offering Pay Level 8, with annual remuneration of ₹12.68 lakh, and requiring at least five years of post-qualification experience.

A total of 24 posts are available, including:

  • General category roles requiring an MBA in fields such as Marketing, HR, Finance, IT, Media Management, or degrees in Travel & Tourism Management, Computer Applications, or Mass Communication – 22 posts.
  • Infrastructure roles requiring a diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Technical Board – 2 posts.

Assistant Positions

The institute has also announced Assistant-level posts at Pay Level 7, with an annual salary of approximately ₹12 lakh and a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience. Ten vacancies are available for candidates with MBA degrees in Marketing, Travel & Tourism, or Media Management, or master’s degrees in Travel & Tourism Management or Mass Communication.

Application Deadline

Interested candidates can apply through the ICAI career portal. The last date for submission of applications is March 25, 2026.
