SCOARA Condemns Delhi Attack, Calls for Unity and Upholding Rule of Law

The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCOARA) has expressed deep anguish and outrage over the tragic loss of innocent lives in the horrific attack that took place in Delhi on the evening of November 10, 2025.

In a strongly worded statement issued today, SCOARA described the attack as an assault on the very core values of India’s democracy — peace, humanity, law, and constitutional civility. The Association emphasized that such acts of violence have no place in a nation built upon sacrifice, democratic institutions, and the rule of law.

“We unequivocally condemn this brutal and senseless act of violence in the strongest possible terms,” the press release stated.

The statement, signed by Mr. Nikhil Jain, Honorary Secretary of SCOARA, conveyed the Association’s heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack. “We stand with them in this tragic hour, and we pray that the Almighty grants strength, courage, and healing to the bereaved families, as well as recovery and safety for all those injured and affected,” it said.

SCOARA reaffirmed its unwavering faith in India’s sovereignty, democratic values, and its constitutional commitment to justice. Denouncing the perpetrators, the Association stated that “such cowardice shall never shake the spirit of India nor the resilience of its people.”

The release further underlined the collective resolve of the legal fraternity to protect and strengthen the rule of law.

“We stand united as citizens, as Officers of the Court, and as patriots committed to protecting and strengthening the rule of law,” the statement added.

Concluding on a solemn note, SCOARA prayed for the departed souls and urged the nation to remain united and steadfast in upholding peace, integrity, and justice:

“May the departed souls rest in eternal peace. May we continue forward as one nation stronger, resolute, and deeply committed to peace, integrity, and justice.”

SCOARA’s leadership — including President Mr. Vipin Nair, Vice President Mr. Amit Sharma, Treasurer Mr. Aljo K. Joseph, and several executive members — echoed the collective sentiment of the legal community in condemning the violence and standing in solidarity with the victims.

The Association, headquartered at the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi, has long been at the forefront of advocating for the protection of constitutional values and strengthening judicial institutions. Its latest statement serves as a reminder of the judiciary’s integral role in upholding peace, law, and justice in times of national crisis.
