Rimjhim Prasad and Rajesh Jindal Promoted as Principal Chief Commissioners in CBIC

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has announced the promotion of two senior officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) namely Rimjhim Prasad and Rajesh Jindal  to the prestigious post of Principal Chief Commissioner / Principal Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes. 

The promotions come into effect for the panel year 2025.

According to Office Order No. 93/2025, issued by the Department of Revenue, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the following officers have been empaneled and promoted:

  • Rimjhim Prasad (Emp. ID 665/1991), born on June 18, 1967
  • Rajesh Jindal (Emp. ID 668/1991), born on August 5, 1967

The officers have been elevated to Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Apex Scale), with the order taking effect from the date they assume charge. 

Until further postings are decided by the Competent Authority, both officers will function on an “in situ” basis — continuing in their current locations.
