The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has promoted Rajeev Gupta and Simmi Jain as Principal Chief Commissioners.
The President of India has approved the empanelment and promotion of two senior officers to the apex level post of Principal Chief Commissioner/Principal Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
According to Office Order No. 109/2025 issued by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Rajeev Gupta (Emp. ID 670/1991) and Simmi Jain (Emp. ID 672/1991) have been promoted to Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Apex Scale) for the panel year 2025. The promotions will be effective from the date of assumption of charge, but not earlier than July 1, 2025.
Until formal regular postings are notified by the Competent Authority, the officers will assume their new roles on an in situ (as is where is) basis.
The concerned departments have been directed to send the compliance reports regarding their joining immediately to the Board, with a copy endorsed to the Principal ADG (HRM-II), DGHDRD.
