President Approves Promotions to Principal Commissioner Grade in CBIC

The President of India has approved the empanelment and promotion of several senior officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (HAG), under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

As per Office Order issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Pradip Kumar Suman has been promoted to the grade of Principal Commissioner against the panel year 2025. His appointment is effective from the date of assumption of charge and will remain in force until further orders.

Additionally, the following officers have been promoted on an ad-hoc basis, not before July 1, 2025, and until further orders:

  1. Diptasri Barma Arora (Emp. ID: 704/1991, DoB: 23.11.1966)

  2. Harbinder Kaur Prasad (Emp. ID: 912/1995, DoB: 13.10.1969)

  3. S. Anantha Krishnan (Emp. ID: 915/1995, DoB: 17.06.1969)

  4. Upendra Singh Yadav (Emp. ID: 917/1995, DoB: 05.11.1971)

It is clarified that the ad-hoc promotions do not confer any claim for regular promotion or seniority and may be reverted at any time, at the discretion of the Government. The officers shall assume their new responsibilities on an in situ basisuntil further posting decisions are made by the Competent Authority.

Furthermore, in continuation of earlier orders dated May 7, 2025 (Office Order No. 79/2025) and June 2, 2025 (Office Order No. 95/2025), the following officers have been promoted on a regular basis against the 2025 panel year:

  1. Manish Chandra (Emp. ID: 906/1995, DoB: 25.09.1969)

  2. Suraksha Katiyar (Emp. ID: 908/1995, DoB: 04.04.1972)

  3. Dipak Kumar Gupta (Emp. ID: 909/1995, DoB: 15.11.1967)

  4. N. J. Kumaresh (Emp. ID: 910/1995, DoB: 05.10.1968)

These promotions take effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and remain valid until further orders.

All officers concerned have been directed to submit compliance reports of their joining to the CBIC, with copies endorsed to Pr. ADG (HRM-II), DGGHRD. Regular postings will follow in due course.
