India Bans All Trade With Pakistan [READ OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION]

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has notified the prohibition on Import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan.

The DGFT has notified the insertion of Para 2.20A of Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023 which relates to Prohibition on Import from Pakistan.

The newly inserted  Para 2.20A states that direct or indirect Import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan, whether or not freely importable or otherwise permitted, shall be prohibited with immediate effect, until further orders. This restriction is imposed in the interest of national security and public policy. Any exception to this prohibition shall require prior approval of the Government of India.

“Para 2.20A of FTP, 2023 is inserted to prohibit direct or indirect import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan with immediate effects until further orders,” the notification read.
