Today i.e. 15th Sept. 2025 is the last day to file the Income Tax Return (ITR) and the social media platforms like twitter are overflowing with the problems faced by the Chartered Accountants and Taxpayers due to the technical glitches in the Income Tax Portal. All the citizens have only one question: will the ITR deadline be extended?

The answer to this question till now is ‘No’, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has not issued any circular till now.

On of the Chartered Accountant, tweeted, No matter whether Income Tax Portal is working or not, as a CA, I’ll keep on trying till 11:59pm

– Even though I am able to file 1 ITR only, I’ll not shut my screen down.

– No matter how small fees I’ll get for that 1 ITR…

IT IS MY MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO FIGHT FOR MY CLIENT

SALUTE TO EVERY CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT AND TAX PROFESSIONAL OF THIS COUNTRY FIGHTING AGAINST THIS FASCIST GOVERNMENT AND FASCIST FINANCE MINISTER.”

While the other chartered accountant raised hi voice against the non-functioning of the income tax portal by saying, It will be a failure of democratic principles and the law of the land, if the ITR deadline is not extended as Portal has not been working since 4 days and it’s Dead Today! No of ITR filed did not even cross last year’s figures. Request intervention of @nsitharaman @narendramodi
