The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced a revision in the schedule of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination slated for May 2026, impacting candidates across India and overseas centres.

According to the official update, the Intermediate examinations, which were earlier scheduled to commence from May 3, 2026, will now begin from May 5, 2026. The revised timetable has been structured group-wise to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.

For Group I, the examinations will now be held on May 5, 7, and 9, 2026. Meanwhile, Group II exams are scheduled for May 11, 13, and 15, 2026.

The ICAI has clarified that this rescheduling applies strictly to the Intermediate course examinations conducted under the syllabus notified as per Regulation 28F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

Importantly, the institute has stated that there will be no changes in the schedule of other examinations, including Foundation, Final, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams such as INTT–AT. These will continue as per the earlier notification issued on December 12, 2025.

Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official ICAI website for further updates and announcements to stay informed about any additional developments.

The rescheduling comes as a significant update for thousands of CA aspirants preparing for the May 2026 attempt, giving them a slight extension in preparation time for the Intermediate exams while maintaining the broader examination calendar unchanged.
