GST Portal Faces Document Upload Glitch

The GST Portal witnessed a technical disruption on Tuesday after taxpayers reported difficulties in uploading documents on the system. The issue was formally acknowledged by GST Tech, the official handle associated with Infosys-GSTN, which issued a public advisory expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to users.

In a pinned post on social media, GST Tech stated that the document upload issue had affected portal functionality and assured taxpayers that the matter was being treated on priority. “Our technical team is actively working on priority to resolve the issue at the earliest,” the post read, seeking patience from taxpayers during the disruption.

The glitch comes at a time when several taxpayers and professionals rely heavily on the portal for statutory compliances, including replies to notices, filing of appeals, registrations, and other GST-related submissions that require document uploads. Any delay or malfunction during such periods often raises concerns among businesses, chartered accountants, and tax practitioners.

While no timeline has been officially announced for complete resolution, the acknowledgement by GST Tech indicates that corrective measures are underway. Tax professionals have advised taxpayers to keep records of attempted uploads and error messages, if any, to safeguard themselves in case of procedural delays.

Further updates are expected once the technical issue is fully resolved and normal portal services are restored.
