Government Appoints Three New Joint Directors in CBI

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of three senior officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) namely  Ashwin Shenvi, Sudha Singh and Ashok Kumar. 

Shri Ashwin Shenvi, IPS (HR:2006), who is currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director. His tenure will last for five years until September 6, 2025, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

Ms. Sudha Singh, IPS (OD:2006), also serving as DIG in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director for a tenure of seven years until July 28, 2026, or until further orders.

Shri Ashok Kumar, IRS (C&IT:2006), currently working as DIG, has also been elevated to the position of Joint Director. His tenure will continue for seven years until January 29, 2026, or until further orders.

This decision aims to bolster the agency’s leadership and enhance its investigative efficiency.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the functioning of the premier investigative agency, which handles critical cases related to corruption, financial crimes, and national security. These senior officers bring a wealth of experience and expertise, further reinforcing the CBI’s commitment to upholding law and justice in the country.
